Wax Dey’s cousin is one of the two survivors of a plane crash that killed 25 people in Congo.

A small passenger plane killed 25 people just after take off in the Congolese region of Goma. Seven people of the same family died after the plane crashed in a populated neighbourhood on the 24th of November 2019.

The plane, operated by local company Busy Bee, went down after shortly take-off in the eastern city of Goma, North Kivu Governor Carly Nzanzu Kasivita’s office said in a statement.

Camer artist Wax Dey this evening confirmed that his Cousin Muma Emmanuel survived the fatal crash and is currently receiving treatment.

Authorities said the 19-seater Dornier 228-200 had 16 passengers and two crew members on board. The aircraft was headed for the city of Beni, 350km (220 miles) north of Goma, when it went down.
